Chat and hook up with gay guys of your area — whether they’re using the iPhone app, or the website on their computer.
If you already have an account on the Web is Pink network of sites (such as webispink.com, pinkoff.com, and more), you can use this application to log in; if you don’t, all you have to do is launch the application, create your profile, and you’re already chatting — no e-mail registration needed or anything.
The application embeds the iPhone version of the Web is Pink website (accessible at http://i.webispink.com/), which lets you chat with people from all over the world (and, more importantly, your neighborhood), and adds the following functionalities:
create your profile right from the application, no registration necessary
use automatic geolocation to place you on the map and show who’s around (or you can turn it off)
upload photos to your profile
be notified of new messages by vibration (as long as the app is running, and on iPhone only)
seamlessly transfer your profile to a full account once you’re hooked and you want to be able to chat from your computer
And it’s all free.

Web is Pink updates your coordinates automatically every five minutes, as long as the application is running (which should be enough to follow you, yet not drain your battery too much).
If you don’t want people to know exactly where you are, you can turn the GPS off from the home screen; it will stay off until you turn it back on. You will still be able to update your location manually at any time by tapping the map then “Use GPS just once,” or typing an address, or just the name of a city. (In other words: yes, you can completely lie about where you are.) You can also configure your profile to only show an approximate location on the map, or hide the map altogether; in that case, your exact coordinates will only still be used to tell visitors how far away from them you are, but not where you are exactly.
When you launch the application, you may find that the map displayed on the home screen isn’t up to date; that’s because it starts loading before your iPhone is done determining where you are. If you just wait a little and reload the page, you should find that your location has been updated. (If it hasn’t, you can tap the map then trigger a manual update.)
If you’re already registered on a site of the Web is Pink network, you have to enter your e-mail address and password on the application’s login screen to access your existing account. You can’t explicitly tie in your account with your iPhone, but don’t worry — you won’t have to type your address and password every time, the application will remember that information until you click the “log out” link.
If you’ve created your profile from the iPhone application, you can at any time sign up in full, by providing en e-mail address and setting a password, so that you can use your profile from any computer (or another device). It’s still completely free, of course. You will be asked to verify your e-mail address, and you’ll have to use that address and your password on the application’s login screen.
If you have already created both a web account and an iPhone profile, though, there is no way to merge them. So you shouldn’t have. Unless you actually wanted to.
By the way, if you create a profile from your iPhone, it is tied with your iPhone, by definition. So if you lose it, or change phones, you won’t be able to access your profile anymore and you’ll have to create a new one. Unless you’ve previously registered with your e-mail address, that is.
App Store applications aren’t allowed to display X-rated pictures — sorry! You can view the full contents of your contacts’ profiles on the regular web version of the site, though.
