How does the application handle geolocation?
Web is Pink updates your coordinates automatically every five minutes, as long as the application is running (which should be enough to follow you, yet not drain your battery too much).
If you don't want people to know exactly where you are, you can turn the GPS off from the home screen; it will stay off until you turn it back on. You will still be able to update your location manually at any time by tapping the map then “Use GPS just once,” or typing an address, or just the name of a city. (In other words: yes, you can completely lie about where you are.) You can also configure your profile to only show an approximate location on the map, or hide the map altogether; in that case, your exact coordinates will only still be used to tell visitors how far away from them you are, but not where you are exactly.
When you launch the application, you may find that the map displayed on the home screen isn't up to date; that's because it starts loading before your iPhone is done determining where you are. If you just wait a little and reload the page, you should find that your location has been updated. (If it hasn't, you can tap the map then trigger a manual update.)
How can I access my profile from the web?
To access the web site, you need to set up an e-mail address for your profile if you haven't already. Just follow the link in the profile customization page to set up your address, and click the link that's sent to you by mail to verify the address. You can now log in to http://www.nopicnochat.com/ from any computer, using your e-mail address and password to log in.
If you already have both a web-based account and a separate iPhone account, you can't merge them, however. There's way too much data and too many conversation history to merge and there would be bugs and it would crash.
Can users of other phones access the site?
The mobile version of the site is very much tailored for the iPhone, but it also works rather well on Android and webOS phones, in Opera browsers on other smartphones, and probably on other platforms too. So you can absolutely recommend that your iPhone-less friends at least try to access the site and see how well it works for them: the address is mobile.nopicnochat.com.
They'll be able to sign up right from the mobile site, but not without providing an e-mail address, though — that option is reserved for users of the App Store application.
Where are the XXX pictures?
App Store applications aren't allowed to display X-rated pictures, and we're as sorry about it as you are. If you want to view the full contents of your contacts' profiles, you'll have to log in to the web version of the site.
